Synopsis nach oben ↑
This study presents a monograph of saxicolous lecideoid lichens
occurring in continental Australia (Fuscidea, Protoblastenia,
and Trapelia are excluded for several reasons). Sixty-four
species belonging to eight families and twenty-two genera have been
revised. Twenty-two of the taxa previously reported from continental
Australia (FILSON 1988a) have been retained, thirteen with unchanged
status.
A key and descriptions of the anatomical, morphological and chemical
features are given for all species dealt with in this study. Taxonomic
affinities, ecological behaviour and infraspecific variation are
discussed. The distribution of each species within continental
Australia is mapped.
