Abstract
A revision of the eastern Mediterranean genus Cristataria is presented based on conchological characters. The distribution of this genus spans from the il Hatay in Türkiye in the north to the Judean Hills in Israel in the south. Forty lineages are recognized at the species or subspecies level. Nine species are polytypic, accounting for 21 subspecies, including nominotypical subspecies. This study provides a summary of diagnostic morphological characteristics and distributional data. The following 4 taxa, all from Lebanon, are described: Cristataria calopleura rugosa subsp. nov., Cristataria hedenborgi magnifica subsp. nov., Cristataria moussaensis sp. nov., and Cristataria strangulata percostata subsp. nov.
