Abstract
Larval instars III—V of Hydropsyche angustipennis (Curtis 1834) and H. pellucidula (Curtis 1834) from two streams near Kiel, NW Germany, can be differentiated easily and clearly by the character of the rhomboidal sclerites of the prosternum. The pupae of these species differ especially in the characters of the dorsal plates of abdominal segment IV.
