Abstract
Pseudectinosoma kunzi sp. n. from cave waters of southern Italy is described. Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM) supported the morphological analysis. An emended diagnosis of the genus is provided. A plausible paleogeographical landscape is briefly depicted to explain the present-day di stribution and ecology of the Pseudectinosoma species.
