Abstract
After a discussion of former limitations between the areas "Illyricum" and "Moesiacum", the author proposes to define a transitional region limited by the eastern distributional border of Ostrya carpinifolia in the east and by the western distributional border of the typical Quercetum confertae-cerris in the west.
