Neues Jahrbuch für Mineralogie (Abhandlungen) publishes thorough, detailed studies of up to 30 printed pages as well as short and concise papers and notes (less than 15 printed pages) on mineralogy, i.e. crystallography, crystal chemistry, petrology, geochemistry and economic mineralogy (mineral deposits).
All manuscripts are subject to peer review and will be published with the least possible delay within about 6-8 months after having been accepted by the Editor. No page charges are levied on regular papers. Neues Jahrbuch für Mineralogie also publishes topical issues and thematic sections. Authors interested in contributing are encouraged to get in contact with the editors.
Beginning with 2005, Neues Jahrbuch für Mineralogy (Abhandlungen) publish all papers formerly submitted to the two subjournals Abhandlungen and Monatshefte. It is published online and in print in the large format 21x28 cm (8.3 x 11"), i.e. twice the content than in the previous small format.
1 volume of Neues Jahrbuch für Mineralogie (Abhandlungen) is published per annum. Subscription to Neues Jahrbuch für Mineralogie Abhandlungen includes free access to the online version of the journal.
All published contributions are in the English language.
Prepub publication (Pre-print-publication)
All manuscripts ready for printing (e.g. reviewed and accepted for publication, composed and the proofs checked by the authors) will be made available online prior to publication in print (PrePub publication). Title and abstracts as well as authors names will be accessible to all visitors of the NJB online version. Full Text is available for online journal subscribers only. All papers carry a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and may be cited electronically and in print by indicating the DOI. This new service will give the opportunity to have articles available well in advance of their actual printed publication date. No page charges are charged for regular papers.
