Phytocoenologia -
International Journal for Vegetation Survey and Classification
(ISSN 0340-269X, e-ISSN 2363-7153)

Phytocoenologia (ISSN 0340-269X) is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original papers, reviews and reports on plant community ecology at any organizational and spatial scale and without restriction to particular methodological approaches since 1973.
Articles may focus on any aspect of vegetation ecology, e.g. vegetation survey and classification, plant community structure, taxonomic and functional plant diversity, interaction of vegetation with its biotic and abiotic environment, or spatial and temporal plant community dynamics, including palaeoecology. Furthermore studies of the reaction of plants and vegetation to climate change are welcome.
An additional focus is on the flora and vegetation of mires and mountain environments. Methodological studies that design and compare tools for vegetation classification and mapping and papers dealing with conceptual and theoretical bases of vegetation ecology are also invited. While large-scale studies are preferred, regional studies will be considered when they fill important knowledge gaps or present new methods of interest for Phytocoenologia´s broader, international readership.
The journal also invites and considers proposals for special issues, resulting from conferences or workshops. Such issues may be published under the auspice of guest editors.

All papers published in Phytocoenologia are peer reviewed. Phytocoenologia was founded by Reinhold Tüxen and Heinz Ellenberg (Vol. 1. (1973)).
