Abstract
The conditions of growth and maintaining in inorganic culture medium (or with addition of soil extract) of the different asexual and sexual stages during the life cycle of the alga Hydrodictyon reticulatum (L.) Lagerh. are described. To our knowledge for the first time a method was developed for synchronous germination of zygotes (80 %). All these conditions of much progressed growth turned out to be easily reproducible delivering homogeneous developmental stages of different kinds in good quantity for physiological and biochemical experiments. Some hints are given to maintain certain stages rather long.
