Abstract
Fifteen taxa of diatoms are listed in this report. For each taxon, its dimensions, ecology and distribution in various parts of Nigeria and elsewhere in West Africa are indicated. It constitutes a vital contribution towards enumeration of phytoplankton in Nigeria which is hitherto scarce.
