Abstract
This volume is a monograph of fossil and recent silicoflagellates with detailed and mostly new data obtained during the research of the Indian Ocean. The authors state that originally a more exhaustive study of these marine lithotroph flagellates was planned. But it is a serious and great contribution to the knowledge of the worldwide distribution of the silicoflagellates. It also includes results of earlier investigations of the team from Madras University, India.
