Abstract
Prof. Dr. Konstantinos Anagnostidis passed away on December 9, 1994 in Athens after a long bout of illness. He was buried on his 70th birthday. Born in Thessaloniki on December 12, 1924, he attended grade school in his hometown from 1930-1936, and graduated from high school (Gymnasium) with his Abitur degree in 1942. Kostas then began his studies at the University of Thessaloniki, interrupted for a three-year-period (1947-1950) of military service, and completed his Bachelor's degree (Diplomarbeit) in the School of Life Sciences (Biology) in 1952.
