Abstract
Saprobiological investigations in a trout brook (Pfaffenbach) in the Vorderwesterwald (North-western part of the Westerwald, Rheinland-Pfalz, West Germany) have been made from August 1980 to August 1982. Fifteen out of a total of seventy-eight species of chironomid captured show a correlation between abundance and saprobic index at the different collecting points.
