Abstract
New types of oxygen gradient apparatus are described. Two fundamental types are distinguished — a horizontal and a vertical. The horizontal oxygradient consists of a trough divided into communicating chambers; the vertical oxygradient consists of a large aquarium. Both are provided with deoxygenating filters. The fishes can freely choose chambers according to the oxygen content. Experiments with juvenile brown trout and juvenile pike were carried out.
