Abstract
The four species of the mycotrophic genus Cotylanthera are transferred to Exacum (Gentianaceae), i.e. E. loheri, E. nanum, E. paucisquamum and E. tenue. Based on morphologic studies as well as earlier DNA work the former species of Cotylanthera have turned out to be deeply nested within Exacum. They are found to be best placed in a clade of tiny, small-flowered Asian species.
