Abstract
Abstract IR and Raman spectra of natural lawsonite have been recorded at wavenumbers between 50 and 4000 cm-1 . From polarized Raman and IR reflection spectra and mode denumbering, an assignment of the vibrations of the Si2O7, OH and H2O units present in lawsonite is proposed. The results are compared with those available from other pyrosilicates
