Abstract
Abstract The crystal structure of sabelliite, ideally (Cu,Zn)2Zn[(As,Sb)O4](OH)3, is determined from_X-ray diffraction data, and refined to a final R = 0.046 for 838 reflections with Fo > 10α(Fo). Space group P-3, with a = 8.197(2) and c = 7.312(1) Å. The structure consists of dense edge-shared (Cu,Zn)-octahedral sheets, which are connected to each other by As-tetrahedra, Zn-tetrahedra, mixed (As + Sb) polyhedra and H-bridges. All the cation sites located on and around the three-fold inversion axis are partially occupied. Structural similarities with spangolite are discussed, as well as possible relationships with theisite, namuwite and schulenbergite
