Abstract

Editors, referees, authors and scientific administrators have serious obligations to reduce escalating costs for scientific publications. Aside from stylistic clarity and consistency, the use of digits, decimals, contractions and telegram style has to be requested. Abbreviations and acronyms have to be used or still be coined for scientific terms and (other often) repeated expressions. Space saving and standardization of communication are the main aims, authors and editors have conjointly to achieve.
