Kurzfassung
Aus Messungen mit der hubschraubergetragenen Meßsonde HELIPOD über Meereis im Nördlichen Eismeer wurde der geostrophische Wind bestimmt. Das Flugmuster war ein Quadrat von etwa 8 km Seitenlänge. Die Flughöhe betrug im Mittel 12 m über Grund. Es wird gezeigt, daß sich auf Grund der hohen Meßgenauigkeit des Systems mit der Methode der inversen Modellierung der geostrophische Wind dem Betrag nach auf etwa 10% genau bestimmen läßt. Das Resultat wird mit Messungen des Bodenwindes verglichen.
Abstract
In order to determine the geostrophic windspeed, the helicopter-borne meteorological turbulence measurement system HELIPOD was used to measure the pressure field above sea-ice in the Arctic. The flight pattern was a box of about 8 km x 8 km and the operation height was about 12 m agl. It is shown that the geostrophic windspeed can be determined with an accuracy of about 10 %. The result is discussed in relation to the measured 10 m ground-based windspeed.
