Kurzfassung
Der gängigen zeithierarchisch-genetischen Einteilung in primäre (durch Strömung erzeugte) sowie sekundär (physikalisch, chemisch, biologisch) überprägte Sedimentstrukturen werden zwei komplementäre Arbeitskonzepte gegenübergestellt: (1) Der morphodynamische Ansatz verfolgt den charakteristischen Pfad der Bildung und Veränderung einer Struktur im kontinuierlichen Feld strukturbildender Faktoren. (2) Im S-Diagramm werden aus dem Reich der Sedimentstrukturen entsprechend ihres geohistorischen Informationsgehaltes fünf Kategorien abgeschnürt: (I) streng historisch, (II) anaktualistisch i. e. S., (III) kryptoaktualistisch (neuer Begriff), (IV) aktualistisch i. e. S. sowie (V) ausschließlich rezent.
Abstract
Current classifications of sedimentary structures are time-hierarchical/genetic: primary structures (produced by currents) vs. secondarily (phys., chem., biolog.) overprinted structures. Proposed are two complementary concepts: (1) The morphodynamic approach follows structures along generative pathways in the continuous field of forming and modifying factors. (2) In the S-diagram sedimentary structures are classified according to their content of geohistoric information: (I) strictly historic, (II) non-actualistic sensu stricto, (III) crypto-actualistic (new term), (IV) actualistic senso stricto, and (V) strictly modern.
