Abstract

Five species from Santonian to Campanian deposits of Saucedas and Tepeyac, Coahuila, Mexico, are described: “Cidaris” splendens, Phymosoma bybeei, Plesiaster? uddeni, Oolopygus pyriformis, and one hemiasterid left in open nomenclature. These records contribute to the limited knowledge on echinoids from this area, allowing for interpretations regarding the palaeobiogeography of the Santonian/Campanian echinoids of Coahuila. This study also revealed the endemism of some species, which is a pattern also familiar in Late Cretaceous ammonites from this area.
