Abstract
A new genus of craniid brachiopods, Deliella n. gen. is proposed with D. deliae n. gen. n. sp. as the type species. Six other species, previously classified within Philhedra KOKEN, are included into Deliella n. gen. The type species is described from the Middle Devonian Skały Formation of the Holy Cross Mountains (Poland). Deliella is an epizoan on a wide variety of other brachiopod species. A brief survey of its ecology is given.
Kurzfassung
Es wird eine neue Gattung craniider Brachiopoden, Deliella n. gen. mit D. deliae n. gen. n. sp. als Typus-Art aufgestellt. Sechs andere Arten, bisher als Philhedra KOKEN klassifiziert, werden zu Deliella gen. n. gerechnet. Die Typus-Art aus dem mitteldevonischen Skały-Formation des polnischen Mittelgebirges wird beschrieben. Deliella ist ein auf zahlreichen anderen Brachiopoden lebender Epibiont. Der Artikel enthält auch einen kurzen Bericht über die Ökologie der neuen Gattung.
