The polymorphism of K2HfF6

Saalfeld, H.; Guse, W.

Abstract

Heating of K2HfF6 reveals a complex polymorphism that was investigated by means of a GuiNiER-temperature-chamber. Six different phases were found (monoclinic, orthorhombic, tetragonal, cubic, trigonal, hexagonal) and described. The observed structure types (especially perovskite) allow the understanding of the transformation mechanism. The x-ray data are presented in tables.
