Kurzfassung
Im Mittelpunkt des wissenschaftlichen Lebenswerkes von Masaaki Korekawa steht die Entwicklung der Theorie der Satellitenreflexe von periodischen Überstrukturen der Kristalle und die Anwendung auf die Kristallstruktur der Plagioklas-Feldspäte. Dazu gehören die strukturellen Eigenschaften der sogenannten e- und f-Satelliten des Labradors und die Interpretation der Mischungslücke zwischen An8 und An3o als submikroskopische Verwachsung. An Mondproben ließ sich durch Analyse von diffuser Streuung stärkere Unordnung als an irdischen Feldspäten feststellen.
Abstract
The main contribution of Masaaki Korekawa to mineral science is the development of a theory of satellite reflections of periodic superstructures and its applications to plagioclase feldspars. The main results were the explication of structural properties from the e- and f-satellites of labradorite and the interpretation of the exsolution between An8 and An30 as a submicroscopic intergrowth. The analysis of diffusive streaks in lunar feldspars showed a more pronounced disorder as in terrestric samples.
