Abstract
Our Galaxy contains about one hundred billion stars. The Sun is one of these. Although the Sun is rather a small star in comparison with other stars, with the giant Betelgeuse for instance, it is the most important for us because without it, life would be impossible on our planet. The Sun is our guide for understanding the Universe; it is the only star which we observe closely. Its energy comes from the core where about 600 billion tons of hydrogen are transformed, per second, first into deuterium and then into helium. We receive about one billion times more energy from the Sun than from an atomic power station. We hope that the experiment LOREX with Tl205 (thallium) as detector will answer the questions: Does the standard model of the Sun require modification or do we have to change our ideas on the neutrinos.
Kurzfassung
Unsere Milchstraße enthält etwa hundert Milliarden Sterne. Die Sonne ist einer von ihnen. Obwohl sie eher ein kleiner Stern ist im Vergleich zu anderen Sternen, wie dem Riesen Betelgeuse zum Beispiel, ist sie äußerst wichtig für uns, weil ohne sie das Leben auf unserem Planeten unmöglich wäre. Die Sonne ist Leitbild für das Verständnis des Weltalls. Sie ist der einzige Stern, den wir von nahem beobachten. Ihre Energie kommt aus dem Zentrum, wo etwa 600 Millionen Tonnen Wasserstoff pro Sekunde transformiert werden, zuerst in Deuterium und dann in Helium. Wir erhalten von der Sonne etwa eine Milliarde mal mehr Energie als von einem Kernkraftwerk. Wir hoffen, daß das Experiment LOREX mit Tl205 (Thallium) als Detektor die Frage beantworten wird, ob das Standardmodell der Sonne modifiziert werden muß oder aber unsere Konzeption der Neutrinos.
