Abstract
It has long been recognized in the literature that the terminology concerning high-grade metamorphic rocks should be resolved. The paper presents a nomenclature for metamorphic rocks in the granulite facies, and the list of terms is supplemented by synonyms considered to be obsolete, specialized or ambiguous, which have had, at one time or another wide usage.
