The Diatomflora of Nagpur, India

Abstract

Ninety two taxa representing twenty three genera of the fresh water diatoms have been recorded for the first time from this region. Of these twenty seven taxa are additions to the diatomflora of this country and one variety and two forms are new to science. The genera Achnanthes. Navicula. Pinnularia. Gomphonema. Cymbella and Nitzschia are found to be dominant genera in this region.
