Abstract

Two new members of the rhizophlyctoid fungi — Karlingia polonica sp. nov. and Nephrochytrium bipes sp. nov. are described. Both these new fungi have been obtained and subcultured by using sterile baits of onion skin. Karlingia polonica and Nephrochytrium bipes, are isolated from a water sample collected from Młociny Pond in Warsaw in May 1981 and Buraków Pond near Warsaw in March 1981 respectively.
