Abstract
The genus Crinipellis is described as it occurs in Illinois. Morphological and anatomical descriptions, habit and habitat, geographic range, illustrations and Illinois county distribution maps are provided for Crinipellis setipes and C. zonata. Due to their occurrence in adjacent regions, data on two extralimital taxa — C. stipitaria and C. Campanella — are also provided. A key to all four species is included. Crinipellis setipes is reported as new for Illinois, and several new county records for C. zonata are presented.
