Abstract
The so-called Udotea petiolata (Turra) Borgesen is endemic to the Mediterranean Sea and belongs to the genus Flabellia Reichenbach 1841. There are two species, F. minima (Ernst) comb. nov. and F. petiolata (Turra) comb. nov. The genus Flabellia belongs to the family Caulerpaceae (Caulerpales, Chlorophyta).
