Abstract
The first part of this paper has presented information on the morphology of the valves and frustules and the weighting of diverse morphological structures as characters. The results of these investigations are the basis for a revision of the species around Rh. gibberula (Ehrenberg) O. Müller. These species appear to be a natural collection of diatoms, characterised by outline and a combination of fine structure. Described are 15 species and one variety. In some species clear delimitations are possible only by taking into consideration morphological structures observed in the SEM. The terminology agrees with those in Krammer (1988).
