Abstract
Spores of over 100 aquatic hyphomycetes and other conidial fungi are reported from rivers in the Transvaal and Natal. Many of these are unidentified and possibly undescribed, pointing to the need for further study by isolation and growth in pure culture in order to follow spore development so that these fungi can be identified or described.
