Abstract
The results of sampling on the island and continental territories of Equatorial Guinea are reported. There are no previous records of Myxomycetes from this country. A total of 142 samples representing 40 different species have been studied. The substrata and distribution on the African continent are included for each taxon, as are taxonomic comments and SEM photographs for some species. Twenty species were collected on Bioko Island, while 30 species were recorded from the continental territory of Río Muni, but no significant differences other than in numbers were noted between the insular and the continental species. Diderma deplanatum Fr. and Enteridium splendens var. juranum (Meyl.) Härk, are first records for Africa, and also Physarum plicatum Nann.-Bremek. & Y. Yamam. which was previously known from Nepal and Japan only. The Afro-montane character of Diderma subasteroides M. L. Farr is confirmed, as it was found on Basilé peak on Bioko Island at 2,100 m alt.
Abstract
Se exponen los resultados de un muestreo realizado en el territorio insular y continental de Guinea Ecuatorial. No se conocían registros previos de Myxomycetes en este país. En total se han estudiado 142 muestras que han correspondido a 40 especies diferentes. En cada taxon, se señalan los sustratos así como su distribución en el continente africano; también se incluyen comentarios y fotografiás al SEM de algunos de sus caracteres. En la isla de Bioko se han recolectado 20 especies por 30 en el territorio continental de Río Muni, pero no se aprecia una diferencia significativa entre las especies insulares y continentales. Diderma deplanatum Fr. y Enteridium splendens var. juranum (Meyl.) Härk. se mencionan por vez primera para Africa, así como Physarum plicatum Nann.-Bremek. & Y. Yamam., que tan solo se conocía de Nepal y Japón. Afianzamos el carácter afro-montano de Diderma subasteroides M. L. Farr al encontrarla en el pico Basilé, isla de Bioko, a 2.100 m alt.
