Abstract
The new species Preussia variispora, isolated from sheep dung in Iraq and characterized by seven- to eight-celled ascospores is described and illustrated. This species is compared with other species of the genus having ascospores with variable number of cells. Four new combinations, P. calomera, P. commutata, P. herculea and P. polymera, are proposed. The ascomycetes Rhytidospora cainii and Strattonia dissimilis, found on camel and sheep dung, respectively, which are only known from their type localities, are also illustrated and described.
