Abstract
We describe two new species from barley leaves, Coniochaeta gamsii sp. nov. from Bonab district, East Azerbaijan province, and C. velutinosa sp. nov. from Osku district of the same province. C. gamsii is distinguished by typical protruding ends of ascospores; C. velutinosa shares some characters with C. velutina (colony morphology and anamorph connection), and with C. leucoplaca (ascospore shape). It is clearly distinguished by its larger ascospores from C. leucoplaca. The anamorphs of C. gamsii and C. velutinosa are described as Nodulisporium- and Lecythophora- like, respectively.
