Abstract

A new species,Inonotus compositus, is described and illustrated from Xizang (Tibet), China. The species has basidiocarp made up of fused, compound pilei, and pilei are usually imbricate; pileal surface "lemon-chrome", zoned, tomentose; pileus margin blunt; pore surface is "cream" to "pale yellow" when fresh, become "reddish brown" to "fuscous" when bruised; hyphae thin- to slightly thick-walled; setal hyphae sometimes are present in the trama. The species and it closely related species are discussed.
