Abstract
A new species of Pochonia, P. globispora, is described. It is characterized by slow growth and globose, cyanophilic conidia produced in heads. P. globispora is closest to P. chlamydosporia on the basis of ITS sequences and deviates from other Pochonia species by up to 5% sequence divergence. This is the only species so far known that entirely lacks pluricellular dictyochlamydospores.
