Kurzfassung
Die Rupelfolge ist das oberste Schichtglied der tertiären Füllung des Amsdorfer Beckens. Die unhorizontiert gesammelte Gastropodenfauna (fast 6.500 Exemplare) lieferte 59 Arten. 12 von ihnen sind mit offener Nomenklatur angeführt. Die Arten werden beschrieben. Die engsten Beziehungen zeigt die Gastropodenfauna zum Rupel Belgiens (Schichten von Berg, Tone von Boom), etwas weniger enge zu etwa gleichalten Schichten des Mainzer Beckens. Deutliche Unterschiede bestehen zu älteren (Unteroligozän i. S. von v. Koenen) und jüngeren (fossilführender Rupelton Brandenburgs) Schichten. Mehrere Arten, insbesondere das Auftreten von Scalaspira m. multisulcata und Fusinus elatior acuticostatus, erlauben eine genauere stratigraphische Einstufung des Arnsdorfer Rupels: zwischen dem Magdeburger Sand (Neustadt-Magdeburg) und dem fossilführenden Rupel Brandenburgs, also (höherer) unterer bis mittlerer Rupel. Die Fauna ist rein marin, die Arten lebten in relativ ruhigem Wasser und relativ weit vom Ufer entfernt.
Abstract
Within the basin of Amsdorf (near Halle) the Rupel is the uppermost part of the tertiary sediments. The gastropods are collected from the dump. The fauna contains nearly 6500 specimens and 59 species. The species are described. The gastropod fauna is very similar to the fauna from the Rupel of Belgium (layer from Berg, clay from Boom). There is a greater difference to the gastropods in sediments of nearly the same age from the basin of Mainz. The differences to the Lower Oligocene (in the sense of v. Koenen) and to the uppermost Rupel of Brandenburg are distinct. Stratigraphically, the Rupel of Amsdorf is situated between the Sand of Magdeburg (Neustadt-Magdeburg) and the uppermost Rupel of Brandenburg, also lower to middle Rupel. This is indicated by several species: Scalaspira m. multisulcata, Fusinus elatior acuticostatus and others. The gastropods from Amsdorf lived in the ocean, rather distant from the coast, in relatively still water.
