Abstract
Sedimentation of the Zechstein is controlled by the superposition of the fluctuating sea level and Milankovitch cycles. Sea level fluctuations dominated in the lower Zechstein. In the upper Zechstein, Milankovitch cycles had a greater impact. Until now, number and duration of the cycles are not known. Lacunas of the sedimentary succession at the margin of the basin have to be taken into account. It is not possible to infer from the number of gamma-ray peaks to the duration of the Zechstein Group.
Kurzfassung
Die Sedimentation des Zechsteins wird durch die Überlagerung von Meeresspiegel-Fluktuationen und Milankovitch-Zyklen gesteuert. Im unteren Zechstein dominieren Meeresspiegel-Schwankungen, im oberen überwiegen Milankovitch-Zyklen. Sowohl die Zahl als auch die Dauer der Zyklen sind nicht bekannt. Am Rande des Beckens ist mit Schichtlücken zu rechnen. Von der Zahl der Gammastrahlen-Peaks kann nicht auf die Dauer des Zechsteins geschlossen werden.
