This compilation of sources of herpetological literature includes bibliographies which are easily discernible but also "cryptic" bibliographies. It covers separate publications, single chapters from extensive works, dissertations and publications in journals and serials.
The bibliography is arranged in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author or first editor. If one author has more than one entry, chronological order is followed.
The main emphasis of the second volume is placed on physiology, genetics, biochemistry, medicine, venoms.
Structure of the third volume:
The paleohepetology is the central theme of the first parts and contains all aspects on fossil amphibians and reptiles and on fossil footprints and traces.
The second part is addendum and supplement to the two preceding volumes with references to all aspects.
The subject index provides all biosystematic and subject terms for both parts. The index of genera and species provides all names for the three volumes, and the aouthor index all first and coauthors for volumes 1 to 3. The main Subject index contains the terms for both parts of volume 3 only.
