Abstract
This work deals with the geology of the Sakkara area, 25 km to the south of Giza Pyramids. It includes a topographic and a geologic map (scale 1:20,000) for the studied area. A general stratigraphic section representing the Tertiary and Quaternary exposures in the area was measured, described and sampled. The paleontologic investigations together with field observations are the basis of the established chronostratigraphy and the paleoenvironmental, tectonic and climatic conclusions.
