Abstract
The main targets of a 400 m research borehole in the Lower Paleozoic (Lower Ordovician) on the southeastern flank of the Stavelot-Venn anticline (Northern Eifel) are presented. The criteria for drill location, the drill-work itself and the program of geophysical borehole measurements are described. A general outline and description of the geological profile, with slates and siltstones of the Salm Formation, is given.
Kurzfassung
Die Forschungsziele einer 400 m tiefen Bohrung im Altpaläozoikum (unteres Ordovizium) der Südflanke des Sattels von Stavelot-Venn (Nordeifel) werden genannt. Die Kriterien zur Auswahl des Bohrpunktes, die Durchführung der Bohrarbeiten und das Programm der geophysikalischen Bohrlochvermessung werden beschrieben. Eine Übersichtsdarstellung und kurze Erläuterung des von der Forschungsbohrung durchteuften geologischen Profils, Schiefer und Siltsteine des Salm, wird gegeben.
