Abstract

Propotamochoerus hysudricus is reported from three localities: Dhok Pathan, Hasnot and Padhri in the Potwar Plateau of Pakistan. The localities are Late Miocene in age. The upper first incisor (I1), upper male canine and lower first incisor (i1) are rare findings described here. The first upper incisor shows morphological similarities with the later European and Asian species, and the lower incisor shows the general morphology of Propotamochoerus. The newly collected specimens provide additional anatomical characters of P. hysudricus.
