Abstract
The fauna of the Lower Cambrian basal conglomerate from the Vassbo lead mine (New Dalecarlia, Sweden) consists of torelleliform phosphatic tubes, Lapworthella, Ostracoda and a previously undescribed monoplacophoran-like organism, for which the name Thorslundella duodecifoliata is proposed. Its internal mould is more or less circular in outline and possesses six symmetrically arranged paired muscle scars. The variable shape of the first pair of muscle scars may be due to intraspecific variation or polymorfism.
Kurzfassung
Die Fauna des unter-kambrischen Basal-Konglomerats aus der Bleigrube von Vassbo besteht aus torellelliformen phosphatischen Röhren, Lapworthella, Ostracoda und einem bisher unbeschriebenen Monoplacophora-ähnlichen Organismus. Der Name Thorslundella duodecifoliata wird für dieses Fossil vorgeschlagen. Der Steinkern hat mehr oder weniger runden Umriß und sechs symmetrisch angeordnete, paarige Muskelabdrücke. Die verschiedenartige Form des ersten Paares der Muskelabdrücke beruht möglicherweise auf arteigener Variation oder Polymorphismus.
