Kurzfassung
Reste von rhizodopsiden Osteolepiformen werden aus dem Unterrotliegenden (Unteres Perm) der Pfalz (W-Deutschland) beschrieben. Damit wird die stratigraphische Reichweite der Rhizodopsiden bis ins Untere Perm ausgedehnt. Bemerkenswert ist die Kombination von Rundschuppen am Körper mit rhombischen Schuppen auf den Flossenloben. Mediane Kielschuppen sind mit Schmelz bedeckt.
Abstract
Remains of rhizodopsid osteolepiforms from the Lower Rotliegend, Lower Permian of Palatinate, W-Germany, extend the range of the family Rhizodopsidae into the Permian. The combination of round scales on the body with rhombic scales on the fin lobes is remarkable, and not known in other rhizodopsids, eusthenopterids or rhizodonts. The scales of the dorsal and ventral midline and in front of the fins are especially thick and covered by enamel.
