Abstract
A hystricid skull from the late Turolian (MN 13) of the lower Axios valley (Macedonia, Greece) is studied. It is described, compared with other samples from the Neogene of Europe and it is determined to Hystrix primigenia. The stratigraphic range of the genus in Europe is also discussed.

Ein Hystrix-Schädel aus dem jüngeren Turolium (MN 13) wird beschrieben, mit anderen neogenen Funden aus Europa verglichen und in stratigraphischen Zusammenhängen betrachtet.
