Abstract
A new Stereum species is described based on morphological characters and phylogenetic analyses. Stereum euroasiaticum nova species is distinguished by its relatively small and wrinkled basidiomata which may secrete a translucent light brown liquid in the fresh state, its lack of acanthocystidia and acutocystidia, basidiospores measuring 7.5 × 3.2 µm on average, and growth on Quercus wood. The sequences of the nuclear ribosomal ITS and LSU regions are provided. A full description and illustrations are given and comparisons are made with similar species.
