Abstract
The concepts of Cheilolejeunea adnata (Kunze ex Lehm.) Grolle and its variety (C. adnata var. autoica Gradst. & Ilk.-Borg.) are discussed and re-evaluated. The use of sexual expression and propagation by caducous leaves (a type of asexual reproduction) for the recognition and distinction between taxa is also evaluated and discussed. As a result, Cheilolejeunea adnata var. autoica is recognized as a synonym of Cheilolejeunea adnata, and three other new synonyms were also determined.
