Abstract
A new species of Calliblepharis, C. jolyi, is described. Its morphological features are compared with those of the other species of the genus. Remarkable characteristics include very narrow, flat or terete, irregularly branched thallus, without filiform lateral proliferations, and the presence of typical thickenings in the cellular membrane. The plants were collected in Eastern Brazil. It is probably from deep water.
