Abstract
Five species of Ulothrix Kützing have been described from the ex-state of Swat: U. aequalis Kütz., U. oscillarina Kütz., U. tenerrima (Kütz.) Kütz., U. tenuissima Kütz. and U. zonata (Web. et Mohr) Kütz., of which U. z. var. faridii Shameel is a new variety. The description is accompanied with a key for identification. All the taxa found in the cold running water are new records for Pakistan.
Kurzfassung
Es werden fünf Arten der Gattung Ulothrix Kützing vom Nordwesten Pakistans beschrieben: U. aequalis Kütz., U. oscillarina Kütz., U. tenerrima (Kütz.) Kütz., U. tenuissima Kütz. und U. zonata (Web. et Mohr) Kütz. var. faridii Shameel, darunter ist die letztgenannte eine neue Varietät. Die Algen wurden aus kaltem, klarem und fließendem Flußwasser im Ex-Staat Swat gesammelt und zum erstenmal in einem pakistanischen Gebiet beobachtet. Um die verschiedenen Arten zu unterscheiden, wird ein Bestimmungsschlüssel vorgeschlagen.
