Abstract
The 1st Conference on Environmental Meteorology "METTOOLS I", held by the German Meteorological Society e. V. at Hamburg in 1990, was followed in September 1993 by "METTOOLS II" which took place in Stuttgart-Hohenheim. This 2nd conference, which was attended by 262 participants from 6 different countries, demonstrated even more clearly than before that the subject matter is of considerable interest. The positive response underlines the importance of the topics chosen by the AKUMET Expert Committee of the German Meteorological Society e. V., and it also shows that the METTOOLS Conference is the right platform for presenting recent developments with regard to the tools of environmental meteorology (METTOOLS) and the state of the art.
